- Does Online Dating Work?
- Online dating is a different way of meeting people. The great thing about it is that you get to meet people you would otherwise never have come across in your day to day life. You only have to read the papers to see how many couples have met online, and we've started to have our own successes too!
- Is Online Dating Safe?
- Online dating is as safe as you make it. We provide the forum for people to meet, but ultimately you are responsible for your own safety. We recommend you taking various steps to ensure that you are protected. These can be found in our Safe Dating section.
- Are my personal details safe?
- Absolutely. The Date Outdoors will not disclose any of your personal details to any other member. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.
- How can I contact The Date Outdoors?
- You can contact The Date Outdoors by completing the online form found within the Contact Us area of the site. If your query relates to site support we ask that you refer to our Frequently Asked Questions first as most questions will be answered there.
- If I choose not to see a profile in future searches, will that person know?
- No, this will be our secret.
- What's the difference between a free and full member?

Free membership enables you to upload your profile, and search our full database to find likeminded people and events. You'll also be able to add people to your favourites and see who has added you too! Full membership will enable you to view all emails received, contact other members and receive discounts on events. Full members will also be able to take advantage of offers from our friends from time to time.

- How much does it cost to become a Full Member?
- To keep it simple there are 2 types of Full Membership available - monthly and 3 monthly. Please visit the Member Types page to view our membership fees.
- I have received a promotional code, how do I use it?
- Promotional codes are used when subscribing as a Full Member. A field will be available for you to enter your code when chosing your subscription type.
- Will you automatically re-bill me when my subscription ends?

Yes, Full Membership fees will be automatically re-billed when each subscription ends. You can cancel this function easily by logging into the site and selecting the option within the My Account Page.

- How do I cancel my membership?
- To cancel your membership, complete the online form in the Contact Us area, remembering to include your username and email address. We will then delete your profile as requested.
- I wish to cancel my full membership, will I receive a refund?
- No, as we offer you the opportunity of trying our service as a Free Member before joining as a Full Member, we do not offer a refund for part-used membership.
- I'm a free member at the moment, how do I upgrade to become a full member?
- After logging into the site as a Free Member, enter the My Account section of My Area and click to upgrade. You will then be asked to choose your Member Type and be taken through the payment process.
- I've forgotten my login details, what do I do now?
- Click the Forgot my Details button and you will receive an email containing your details.
- How long will it take for my profile to be approved?
- Please allow 48 hours for your profile to be approved, we aim to approve them within 24 hours.
- Why was my profile rejected?
- Your profile will have been rejected due to what was written in the About Me section, e.g. personal contact details, offensive content etc. Please refer to our Site Guide for details of what should be included within this section.
- Why was my photo rejected?
- Your photo may have been rejected due to a number of reasons, e.g. file size, a group shot, or perhaps containing adult content. Guidelines can be found in our Site Guide area.
- I need help uploading my photo!
- Please refer to our Site Guide area to view uploading instructions. If you are unable to upload your photo, we can do this for you. Please send it to the address that can be found in the Contact Us area.
- What shall I write in my profile?
- Please refer to our Site Guide for help with the About Me area.
- Can you tell me the instructions for uploading my photo?
- Please refer to our Site Guide for help uploading your photo.
- How many photos can I upload onto the site?
- You can upload 1 main photo, and 5 extra photos.
- What size should my photograph be?
- You can upload any sized photo to the website - we'll resize it for you.
- Can I hide my profile for a while?
- Absolutely, should you wish to take a break you will find this function in the My Area section.
- How long are my messages kept for?
- Your messages will be stored for 60 days, then deleted.
- How do I amend the email address that you send messages to?
- You can change your email address by editing your profile within the My Area section.
- Do you read my messages?
- No, we respect your privacy.
- How do I report abuse?
- We take this very seriously, so please report this immediately by selecting the Report Abuse option within the messages area within the My Area section.
- Do other members know that I have visited their page or read their email?
- No, that's just between us!
- Can members see that I have added them to my favourites?
- Yes, we will send members an email with the good news!
- How long will members stay in my favourites?
- Members will stay in your favourites for 60 days, then will be deleted.
- How can I sign up for an event?
- Each event detail has the option to click to see more. By clicking the link you will either be able to sign up via our site or sign up on our Partners site. This will depend on who is running the event.
- I've signed up for an event, but now can't make it. Do I get a refund?
- We are unable to give you a refund on events, but if you Contact Us we will try to re-sell your place and if this is possible we will switch the fee paid to another event.
- I missed an event, do I get a refund?
- No, sorry, as we were unable to re-sell your place we are unable to refund your event fee.
- Will other members be able to see that I'm going to be attending an event?
- No, we'll keep this as a surprise!..
- I'm a full member, how can I claim my event discount?
- When you sign up, make sure you tell the organisers that you are a full member. You'll be charged the discounted rate and they'll confirm it with us before the event takes place. If you made a mistake, you'll be asked to pay the difference before the event takes place.
